Game 'hero' prop made as first project for the Game Art Institute - Environment Artist Bootcamp.
This introductory project re-introduced me to Blender with its new interface in 2.8, including working with a construction mesh approach when modelling the high poly and the re-topology techniques for making an efficient low poly. The project got me working in Substance Painter and Marmoset Toolbag as well as the beginning-to-end workflow of producing a realtime video game ready prop.
It was a real challenge for me, the a-symmetrical organic shapes causing some headaches early on, but I stuck with it and am quite happy with the outcome as it currently stands. I have left a lot of geometry detail in this model so in the coming weeks I will revisit and reduce more. Prince is cool.
